Greater Sydney Water Strategy

How progress will be evaluated and reported

We’ll regularly update the community about what’s being delivered.

The Greater Sydney Water Strategy is part of a suite of regional and metropolitan water strategies which align with the NSW Water Strategy, setting out the approach to maintaining the long-term resilience of the state’s water resources. We are establishing an integrated framework for reviewing and reporting against the NSW Water Strategy. We will formally evaluate, review and update the NSW Water Strategy at least every 5 years.

This long-term investment is also needed to help us determine what changes might be needed to our strategies or statutory water sharing plans to achieve the outcomes more effectively.

Implementing the Greater Sydney Water Strategy

The Greater Sydney Water Strategy is supported by an implementation plan that outlines clear roles and responsibilities and timeframes for delivery of each action. We are developing a framework for monitoring, reviewing and reporting against these actions. A progress report will be published each year.
