The NSW Government welcomes the findings of the Independent Review by the Office of the Chief Scientist & Engineer (OCSE) into the deaths of millions of fish along the Darling-Baaka River near Menindee earlier this year.

The NSW Department of Planning and Environment has suspended a planned environmental water release from Jindabyne Dam that was scheduled to take place on Thursday 1 December 2022, due to flood operations being undertaken by Snowy Hydro.

The NSW Government has reaffirmed its opposition to non-strategic water buybacks being used to meet water recovery targets as part of the Murray Darling Basin Plan.

The rain keeps coming but the Hunter Valley Flood Mitigation Scheme has protected the community through five major flood events since March 2021.
