The NSW Government is taking a deep dive into our incredible aquatic life across the state - everything from turtles and dragonflies to frogs, plants and endangered fish - to improve the way we manage our waterways for the next generations.

A new $55 million pipeline that connects the Calala Water Treatment Plant in Tamworth to the Dungowan Showgrounds has been completed, helping save up to 2.2 megalitres of water per day.

The design and construction of the new state-of-the-art Mardi Water Treatment Plant is locked in with Abergeldie Contractors Pty Ltd winning the contract to deliver the project.

The NSW Government and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council (PMHC) are together investing $2.3 million to finalise plans for a new water treatment plant, larger water distribution system and major upgrade of a sewage treatment plant.
