The NSW Government is taking steps to commence work on the largest investment in water infrastructure along the Darling-Baaka River in decades with the delivery of a $76.1 million new state-of-the-art weir and fishway for Wilcannia.

A new $55 million pipeline that connects the Calala Water Treatment Plant in Tamworth to the Dungowan Showgrounds has been completed, helping save up to 2.2 megalitres of water per day.

The design and construction of the new state-of-the-art Mardi Water Treatment Plant is locked in with Abergeldie Contractors Pty Ltd winning the contract to deliver the project.

The NSW Government and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council (PMHC) are together investing $2.3 million to finalise plans for a new water treatment plant, larger water distribution system and major upgrade of a sewage treatment plant.

Work has begun on one of the largest water infrastructure projects in New South Wales, with the Parkes-Peak Hill Water Supply Project designed to put the region in a stronger position to manage water in a drier climate.

Work has begun on a new $5.1 million Wyangala Water Treatment Plant which will deliver up to 800,000 litres of clean drinking water every day to village residents and the popular holiday park.
