Training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to install non-urban water meters

About the training course

The 3-day training course is aimed at all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tradespersons with a mechanical aptitude, including apprentices.

To become qualified to install and validate non-urban water meters you do not need to be a plumber or specifically work in the irrigation sector.

There is a shortage of qualified people to install water meters to measure licensed water take from rivers and groundwater systems.

Visit the non-urban metering reforms website to find out more.

The course will accredit participants as a certified meter installer, validator and a duly qualified person to install water meters. Irrigation Australia Limited will deliver the course. Visit their website to read the course overview.
