Background
The Hunter Water Regulation 2015 is a statutory instrument under the Hunter Water Act 1991 and is used to regulate activities in the catchment areas and water storages, compliance with plumbing and drainage standards, protection of Hunter Water works or property or assets, and implementation of water restrictions. The regulation supports effective, efficient and prudent operations of Hunter Water in delivering its services to the community.
The department sought the community’s views on the remake of the Hunter Water Regulation 2015 which expires on 1 September 2024 unless it is remade. The Hunter Water Regulation 2024 has been drafted to replace the 2015 regulation.
