Accepting submissions – Stage 1 public consultation on key elements of the draft Murrumbidgee Valley Floodplain Management Plan is open from Monday 25 March to Sunday 5 May 2024.

The department is developing a whole-of-valley floodplain management plan under the Water Management Act 2000 for the Murrumbidgee Valley. This will replace the existing localised floodplain management plan that was originally developed under the Water Act 1912.

Stage 1 public consultation

We are seeking feedback on key elements that will be used to prepare the draft Floodplain Management Plan for the Murrumbidgee Valley Floodplain through Stage 1 public consultation, including a formal submission process from 25 March until 5 May 2024.

Submissions will be accepted until 11:59 PM on Sunday 5 May 2024.

All feedback is important and will be considered when preparing the draft floodplain management plan for public exhibition. Feedback will be collated into a ‘What we heard’ report and published on this web page. Please tell us if you want your feedback to remain confidential and do not want to be named in the report.

We will release the full draft floodplain management plan as part of a second round of public consultation later this year.
